Human Resource Management & Organizational Development

GCA-HRM-104$190

About This Programme

This programme covers the fundamentals of human resource management in institutional and development contexts — from recruitment and onboarding through performance management, staff development, and organisational design. Participants learn to build HR systems that support accountability, retention, and organisational effectiveness.

The curriculum addresses common challenges in development-sector HR: managing distributed teams, navigating donor-funded staffing constraints, handling disciplinary processes, and fostering inclusive workplace culture. Case studies draw from NGOs, multilateral organisations, and public institutions.

Learners finish with practical templates for HR policies, job descriptions, performance review frameworks, and organisational structure diagrams that can be adapted to their own institutional context.
