Higher Certificate in Trade Operations Governance (Velmora Standard)

HCTOG-VS$165

About This Programme

The Higher Certificate in Trade Operations Governance (Velmora Standard), abbreviated HCTOG-VS, is offered by Quillmora School of Commerce and listed here on GCA Learning. This two-week online programme helps learners apply good governance to how a business buys, sells, ships and records its trade. Tuition is USD 165.

Created by Quillmora School of Commerce, the Velmora Standard comprises five principles: Clear Ownership — every trade task has one named owner; Traceable Records — every order, payment and delivery leaves a clear record; Fair Dealing — customers, suppliers and partners are treated by the same open rules; Steady Flow — goods, money and paperwork move in an orderly way without gaps or avoidable delays; and Regular Review — the process is checked on a fixed schedule and improved.

By completion, learners will be able to explain the five principles in plain language, assign clear ownership to trade tasks, keep traceable records for orders, payments and deliveries, set fair and open dealing rules, and plan a regular review of trade operations. The programme is designed for practical use in small businesses and everyday operations without requiring a specialist background.

Study plan: Week 1 covers Modules 1–3, establishing the framework, ownership and traceable records. Week 2 covers Modules 4–6, applying fair dealing, improving trade flow and carrying out regular reviews. Assessment consists of short quizzes for each module and one final project: a simple governance plan applying all five Velmora Principles to a real or sample business.

Programme Syllabus

1

Foundations of the Velmora Standard

Week 1. Explore how a business buys, sells, ships and records its trade. Explain Clear Ownership, Traceable Records, Fair Dealing, Steady Flow and Regular Review in plain language. Identify who is responsible, whether decisions can be traced and how often the process is checked. Practice: map a simple transaction to the five principles. Assessment: a short module quiz.

2

Ownership and Responsibility in Trade

Week 1. Break a trade process into tasks, assign one named owner to each task and define clear handovers. Identify unowned tasks, duplicated work and unclear approval responsibilities. Practice: prepare a task-and-owner register for a real or sample business, including how issues are escalated. Assessment: a short module quiz.

3

Records, Evidence and Traceability

Week 1. Link orders, invoices, payments and delivery records so that a transaction can be followed from start to finish. Use consistent references, dates and record names; document corrections and retain the evidence behind decisions. Practice: assemble a transaction file and record register, highlighting missing or conflicting evidence. Assessment: a short module quiz.

4

Fair Dealing with Customers and Suppliers

Week 2. Set clear and open rules for quotations, supplier selection, customer commitments, complaints and agreed exceptions. Apply the same stated rules consistently and document reasons when an exception is authorised. Practice: draft a plain-language fair-dealing checklist and work through a customer or supplier scenario. Assessment: a short module quiz.

5

Keeping Trade Flowing

Week 2. Coordinate the movement of goods or services, money and paperwork. Identify dependencies, track handovers, spot bottlenecks and follow up missing records or delayed actions. Practice: build a trade-flow tracker with owners, due dates and an exception log, then propose improvements to an interrupted transaction. Assessment: a short module quiz.

6

Review, Improve and Report

Week 2. Establish a fixed review schedule, check transactions against all five principles, record findings and assign improvement actions. Write a short report explaining what works, what needs attention and when progress will be checked. Assessment: a short module quiz and the final governance plan applying the Velmora Standard to a real or sample business.
