Human-in-the-Loop AI Review & Quality Assurance

HITL-404$134

About This Programme

Human-in-the-Loop AI Review & Quality Assurance prepares learners to work at the point where automated systems meet human judgement. The programme focuses on reviewing AI-generated classifications, extracted fields, summaries and recommendations against source evidence, project rules and clearly defined acceptance criteria.

Learners develop a disciplined approach to confidence scores, exception queues, hallucination detection, structured corrections and escalation. The syllabus also addresses bias, privacy, security and the boundaries between an operational review decision and a decision that must remain with an authorised specialist.

By the end of the programme, learners will be able to complete a traceable review, explain why an output was approved or corrected, identify recurring failure patterns and provide useful feedback that improves the wider AI-assisted workflow.

Programme Syllabus

1

Foundations of Human-in-the-Loop AI

Understand where human review fits within AI-assisted workflows, the responsibilities of a reviewer, and why accountability remains human even when a system produces the first output.

2

Source Grounding & Evidence-Based Verification

Compare classifications, extracted fields, summaries and recommendations with source evidence while distinguishing confirmed information from inference and unsupported invention.

3

Confidence Scores, Thresholds & Review Queues

Interpret confidence signals, apply project thresholds and organise low-confidence, conflicting or consequential cases into review paths with clear ownership.

4

AI Error Taxonomy & Hallucination Detection

Recognise extraction, classification, omission, reasoning and hallucination errors; assess their severity; and identify patterns that may affect an entire batch or workflow.

5

Structured Corrections & Audit-Ready Rationale

Correct supported errors, apply consistent labels and write concise decision notes that make approvals, changes and unresolved questions traceable to another reviewer.

6

Bias, Fairness, Privacy & Responsible Handling

Identify potential bias and unequal impact, minimise unnecessary data exposure, protect sensitive information and follow responsible-use boundaries during review.

7

Escalation, Edge Cases & Domain Boundaries

Decide when to approve, correct, defer or escalate; prepare useful escalation notes; and keep legal, medical, financial or policy decisions with authorised specialists.

8

Quality Measurement, Feedback Loops & Readiness Assessment

Measure agreement, error severity, rework and escalation quality; convert recurring issues into workflow feedback; and complete a scenario-based reviewer readiness assessment.
